Playhouse Merced

Playhouse Merced is a real gem of the central valley. It rivals much larger production companies in all aspects of live theater.

In early 2006, I was asked if I would volunteer my services to become the "company photographer."

I agreed to do so. And now, about 50 productions later, I'm glad I did. Very glad. I have no plans to stop, unless, of course, I'm fired.

The pay is pittance, nothing -- but I did say I volunteered, didn't I?

There may be no money, but there are many other perks.

I have the priviledge of seeing all productions, meeting the greatest local and out-of-town actors, volunteers, and playhouse staff members.

It's always fun to deliver the pictures for the "Now Playing" wall to see the reactions, thankfully, mostly positive.

If you've never seen a Playhouse Merced production -- do it. You will not be sorry.
